Living in South Florida where the weather is nice, we always have something happening on the weekends. The month of February seems to be the most jam-packed because our weather is SO MUCH BETTER than everywhere else in the country. One of my favorites is President’s Day weekend when Miami plays host to more than 1,300 boats with the arrival of the 2017 Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show®.
Owning a boat in Miami is like owning a car. My husband has been deep sea fishing since he was a little boy. His family has always owned boats and Saturdays have always been about fishing. He has passed down that same love of the water to my boys. That’s why attending the Boat Show is something that we do each February.

Relaxing at the Playita
Whether you’re a novice boater or experienced captain, dreamer or boat owner, the Miami International Boat Show is THE can’t miss winter destination for those with a taste for life on the water.
This year is a bit different. The Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin on Key Biscayne will be the site for the show. With this new location, the boat show is adding a new pier, Pier 9, to accommodate more boats in-water including 100 new luxury yachts for sale, making the Miami Boat Show one of the largest yachting exhibitions in the country.
That’s all good, but I go for the fun! Every year since I began dating my husband, we’ve gone to the boat show to walk around in the gorgeous weather while enjoying our favorite cocktail and eating delicious food. We just so happen to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful boats around! The 2017 Miami Boat Show encourages attendees to come hungry and thirsty! A highlight of this year’s show is the enhanced food & beverage program featuring more than 150 options ranging from luxe to casual fare. See what I mean?
There will be sandwiches, burgers, fries, burritos, made-to-order salads, fresh pizzas, and more. On a more upscale menu, The Knife, an Argentinian steak house, will offer menu favorites. There will also be sushi, paella, gyros, pulled pork, Mexican favorites, and SOOO MUCH MORE! (I’m starving right now!)
Miami’s famous Food Trucks will also be at the Miami International Boat Show this year:
