Summer adds a whole new challenge to my “to-do” list personality. Life is in a bit of a disarray in the summer since we kind of just “fly by the seat of our pants” without the rigorous schedule of school life. How do I try and stay organized? With a Summertime Planner of course!
I know it may sound a bit OCD, but making lists keeps me sane.
Who doesn’t need ideas during the summer? I DO! We get so hung up on the usual events that the kid and I tend to get a little bored. With the 100 Things to Do This Summer list, we come up with ideas ahead of time so we don’t get bored.
I’m still a fan of paper and pencil calendars. Yup, I’m that girl. I like to post the family’s to-do list on the fridge so that the kids can see exactly what to expect each day. Especially so they can see the days they need to wake up early. (Tweens like to sleep a LOT during the summer!)
I also keep track of the chores that the kids need to complete each day. Yes, I’m also THAT mom!
Since it’s summertime, I have more time to cook new meals and experiment in the kitchen since I have more time. I use this meal planner so that I can keep things organized for my rendezvous in the kitchen. (Take note of the wine on the list!)
Reading is a huge part of our summertime. The kids’ have summer reading to do for school, not to mention I want them to exercise their brains while they are on break from school. I LOVE reading, so I want to keep track of the books I plan to read over the summer. Is my list too ambitious?
