I love school supplies. There. I’ve said it. The smell of new pencils, a fresh new notebook, a blank school calendar, and the crayons….oh the crayons! Back to school means “new,” not just in a fresh new start of a school year, but also fresh new supplies!
As a former teacher, I have spent over $1,000 each school year on supplies for my classroom. Although I worked in very good areas and was supplied a lot from the schools, there were always things that I needed to get the school year off to a great start. (Ok, maybe I didn’t NEED everything…like the fun colorful pens…but they made me happy!) Chances are, your child’s teacher spends the same amount of money out of their own pockets to make sure your child’s school year is successful and happy.
Office Depot Loves Teachers:
- Teacher Appreciation Events: My local area Office Depot had a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast this past weekend just in time for the new school year. The teachers who came received breakfast, 20% discount, and 30 Star Teacher Rewards points for every $1 spent on products from the event sponsors. (Usually you receive 10 points for every $1 spent…SCORE!) They also got a bag stuffed with a planner and pen with an in store $10 purchase.
- Teacher Rewards Program: This program is just like the Office Depot Loyalty program that I mentioned, except just for teachers. With the Star Teacher Reward program, educators receive rewards for their needs…you know, like discounts on products such as: Avery, Carson-Delosa, Crayola, Expo, Paper-Mate, Pilot, Scotch, Sharpie, and Post-It. There are also all kinds of special in-store events and exclusive pre-sale offers on new products. As always, allowing educators to choose how they get rewarded.
- 5% Back to Schools Program: The teachers can help their schools earn free supplies too! Once the teachers create a School Supplies Checklist and link it to their corresponding school code, parents can use their teacher’s list and help their schools get 5% back for free supplies! WOW!
As a parent and former teacher, the Office Depot Rewards program is something that helps me to give back to my kids’ school. I love how Office Depot loves teachers and recognizes all of the hard work they put in to helping children thrive!
