For as long as I can remember, giving cards for holidays birthdays and just a simple thinking of you, has been a way of life. My mom instilled in me the fact that I handwritten note is something that is meaningful to everyone. It shows how much you care, that you’re thinking of someone, and it shows that you took the time to write to someone.
The other day, I was shopping in Walmart and came across the “Celebration” section of the store. Of course I was lured in by the brightly colored cards and funny sayings on the cards that I could send to people that I love. And then there was a huge reminder that Mother’s Day is approaching quickly.
What better time to buy Mother’s Day cards than now? I like to be ahead of the game so I don’t get stuck with the random cards that are picked over. Most of the time, I end up spending way too much time in the card aisle of Walmart because I want to read each and every one to find the perfect message. (Yes, I’m the one in the card aisle either laughing out loud to herself or wiping away a tear.)
Although I haven’t quite worked out all of the particulars on the Mother’s Day gifts that I need to give this year, I know that a Hallmark card will be attached to the gift.
I love giving unique gifts as much as I love giving unique cards, so I was thinking that maybe this year I would do some sort of riddle or scavenger hunt to go along with the gifts for the moms in my life. I know I can always fall back on “old faithful” gifts like crafts from my kids or something picture related… Shopping for the gift is going to be another day (and post) all together!
These are the cards that I picked out for the moms in my life this year. Shhhh…don’t tell! A lot of my selections got doubled & even tripled because they fit a few moms in my life. I also picked out a funny Hallmark card for my best friend!
