Midweek Meandering (#4)

I stepped out of my comfort zone completely…I went to a blogging conference without knowing more than 1 person. I am SOOOO not this person. I don’t like walking into situations where I am alone. Thank GOD wine was involved!!

I attended the Food and Wine Conference in Orlando, Florida. This conference brings together bloggers, small business owners, winemakers, chefs, public relations professionals, traditional media, new media, authors & brands. The conference was held at the beautiful Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando. (I can’t wait to stay there again!)

I had a GREAT time! I met so many bloggers and foodies who were so sweet and supportive, not to mention everyone had a great appetite for delicious food & cocktails! Oh yeah, and I learned a lot too…

FWCon 1

New friends!

FWCon 2

Did I mention I had a hotel to myself ALL weekend long? SCORE!

I’ve also taken some time to write about my experiences with burning popcorn all the time. Read How to Pop the Perfect Popcorn! And I’ve shared how we have been having the Best Summer Ever and ways to keep the family safe.

In the midst of it all, I had some time to check out some of the blogs that belong to my new friends from the conference for my Midweek Meandering #4. Here are some things that I found:

  • So, I met the most infectious person EVER while at the conference. You may know her: Emily Ellyn from The Next Food Network Star Season 8. I love her & I love Hoisin sauce…that’s why her Hoisin Steak Sliders sound so yummy!
  • I made another friend named Ethel. She is having such a once in a lifetime experience by living in Morocco! Even though she did tell me that it’s not as “glamorous” as it may sound. She loves to cook and has a blog called Eating In Instead. I can’t wait to try her Thai Coconut Curry Soup.
  • You know I like cocktails. Well, I also like Coryanne from Kitchen Living With Coryanne. What a great spirit she has, so fun to be around! Her Moscato Gimlet is a definite cocktail that will be shared in this house!
  • Rachel and I shared a deep love for yummy chocolate and powdered sugar covered almonds! This Texas girl has great style and great recipes that she shares at A Southern Fairytale. I can’t wait to visit her in Texas and try her Cinnamon Pecan Ice Cream!

I hope the remainder of your week is wonderful and you have a chance to meander around the internet! Let me know what you find!
