Orlando is a quick road trip from Miami, that’s why we tend to head north when going on a quick getaway. Not to mention, Orlando seems to be the kids’ mecca with Disney World and Universal Studios located there and we are sure to have family fun every time we go.

As an exhausted mom, there are times when I want a quick getaway without having to wait in long lines with thousands of people in the hot sun for a 2 minute ride. Sometimes I just want to relax, eat good food, have some cocktails and enjoy my family. Now THAT’S a vacation!

Surrounded by the Disney World Resort and nestled on a 482-acre nature preserve, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek features family-friendly amenities and complimentary transportation to the Disney Theme Parks.

The resort features 1,001 elegant and family-friendly guest rooms with world-class amenities to include a 3-acre lazy river and pool, poolside cabanas, fitness center, and many dining and lounge options. We were invited to Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek during their annual SummerBlast! event. On weekends from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend the hotel hosts Summer Blast! where families can enjoy fabulous summer fun at the pool and throughout the resort. The SummerBlast! team provides afternoons of pooltime fun, including music, games and prizes. There is also the Ducktona 500 on Saturdays: a rubber duck race in the lazy river!

SummerBlast! activities are reserved for guests staying at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando.

Luckily for our sweet loving family, the hotel was also hosting a special weekend surprise: Cupcake Lovers Weekend. Every activity revolved around the sweet treats including a cupcake decorating contest between the many departments in the hotel and the presentation of a 7 foot cupcake tower.
