For my kids, the first day of school is coming quickly (3 days, 1 hour, 34 mins to be exact). I want them to start a new school year with their best foot forward. New supplies, new clothes and shoes, new haircuts…all in time to meet their new teacher. And speaking of those new teachers, I like to surprise them with a little “something” for a great first day. Not to mention, a little bribery never hurt anyone!
This year, I am sending the kids with a “Happy 1st Day” gift and a “Happy 1st Week” gift. As a former teacher, I know the first day is something to celebrate and the first week is an accomplishment.
Here’s what I have planned:
On the first day of school, I decided to make this little something. An old college friend of mine, Laura Winslow from Laura Winslow Photography came up with this cute & very inexpensive gift for teachers. These little bags are useful to keep pens & essentials in when the teachers go to meetings. I call them “nerd packs” and I never went anywhere without mine!
Laura even created a free printable to go along with it. Thanks, Laura for making my job easier!
For the end of the week, I plan on giving the teachers the votive candles that I decorated with Scotch Expressions Washi Tape. I may even add a bottle of wine to it…goodness knows they will need it!
I really want to show how much I appreciate all of the hard work that the teachers have put in to making the classroom so inviting and that their job is the most important one because they are with my “babies” all day long.
How do you show appreciation for your teachers?
I send my girls to school with a happy first day for their teachers also. This year we have a new school girl so her gift must be extra special. I
Bribery works wonders!! LOL!
